As part of their marketing efforts, the city will create a three-year campaign which “will involve billboard advertising, city vehicle wraps and other public relations efforts”. It’s great to see vehicle wraps as part of a city’s re-branding, marketing and advertising efforts – this is a city that knows the value that vehicle wraps have.

So you just got your vehicle wrapped and you want to know how you can best promote using it. Well first off – find some traffic! Seriously, if you’ve got any length of commute to/from your place of work and you’re used to finding the quickest way there (without traffic) then it’s TIME TO CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK (AND DRIVE). Start looking for the most heavily traffic areas and choose them. Can you imagine how many eyes will be on your Vehicle Wrap sitting in traffic? – Yes, thousands!!

Used to driving like a maniac? Well, you might want to stop that too. Drivers WILL remember you and if you’re used to cutting people off and pulling out in front of people, then expect some hate calls and emails (just fore-warning you).

Parking – so you’ve got to run to the hardware store, mall, convenient store, fast-food restaurant or anywhere else there’s a busy parking lot. Find a spot either nearest the busiest entrance or farthest away, but on the highway … and walk. Either way, it’s worth the walk, plus we all can use more exercise. Think about it, what retail space can you visit and stick a sign in the ground? None! But you can always park your wrapped vehicle there and get FREE advertising (no permit required).

Got more ideas? Share them in the comments below.

They print anything and everything on aircraft these days. Following Pikachu and the recent Gundam mecha skins on Japan’s All Nippon Airways, StarCraft II has also joined the sky high club, with two Korean Air planes–a B747-400 and a B737-900–wrapped with the image of terran hero Jim Raynor from the game. These birds will fly both the domestic and international routes in the U.S. and Europe for six months from June 24 and early July, respectively.

Back on the ground, four Korean Air limousine buses skinned with StarCraft II characters will also be in service throughout this period. Seriously, I don’t quite understand the rational for spending marketing dollars on this except to generate an initial buzz and some publicity. Planes spend more time in the air than on the ground and every second the bird is on the tarmac is money lost. Who’ll to get see the graphics up in the air then? Perhaps only Gundam for now.

Interested in wrapping a vehicle for your business?

There’s a lot you can do to make sure you get the most out of wrap.

First of all, if you haven’t already wrapped your vehicle you need to know that vehicle wrap advertising is seen as one of the most effective and affordable mediums of advertising available to date! Figures suggest an average vehicle wrap gets about 8 million impressions per month, for a fraction of the cost that other methods of advertising would cost.

Before rushing out to get your vehicle wrapped there are a few things you should consider. Wrapping your vehicle is a process that starts with a good, colorful, eye-catching design. The design is printed onto hi-tech adhesive vinyl film, which is then adhered directly to the vehicle. Make sure you work with a company that can carry out the entire process, produce the high-quality, non-fade printing that will ensure your wrap lasts, and then ensure that it’s installed properly. You will then have an outstanding vehicle wrap that looks much like a custom paint job, at a fraction of the cost.

Once you have your vehicle wrap you should take a look at your behavior to see whether you can help to make your wrap even more effective. It may seem obvious, but do try to make use of your vehicle whenever possible – it’s not advertising anything when it’s parked in a garage. When you do park your vehicle, try to park in high traffic areas. This might mean that you park near the road and walk a little extra to your office and back each day. Yes, vehicle wraps can even help you to exercise more! When you go out (ballgame, movies, concert, whatever), go early. Try to park somewhere so that everybody will have to walk past your vehicle on the way in… which will also help you to get the best seats. In short, you have a mobile billboard. Make sure people see it.

Vehicle wraps are also a nice way to pass the time when you’re stuck in traffic. So next time you find yourself in a stand-still, don’t get stressed out, just imagine how many prospective new customers are finding out about your company! I once hated traffic … I now look forward to rush hour sitting in my wrapped vehicle!

Ready to get a quote on a vehicle wrap from a professional company? We’ve provided an easy way for you to do so … with no obligation and it’s free. Just go here to get started – http://www.wrapcompanies.com/quote/.

But while some markets are on the downswing, and others are holding steady, a select few are actually seeing expansion. One of those markets is vehicle wraps.
With fast turnaround times, less expensive equipment, and an economical way to advertise, vehicle wraps are becoming all the rage. Several high-profile executives in the industry recently took time from their busy schedules to shed light on the success of vehicle wraps.

Calling all wrappers (in Europe anyway). Do you wanna be a Wrap Star?

FESPA and sponsor Avery Graphics invite entries to FESPA 2010 Wrap Cup vehicle wrapping competition.

Would-be ‘wrap stars’ are invited to enter the FESPA Wrap Cup (www.fespa-wrap-cup.com), the live vehicle wrapping competition running throughout FESPA 2010 (Messe Munich, June 22-26, 2010).

Over the course of the five day event 64 vehicle wrappers will compete to win thousands of Euros worth of prizes and the coveted title of ‘FESPA Wrap Star’.

Each day 16 individual competitors will be whittled down to one during three competitive rounds. ‘Wrappers’ will be challenged to wrap a variety of cars with speed and precision. They will be given just half an hour in the first round, increasing with each progressive stage, and culminating in a daily final. The winners from each of the first four days will then go on to compete in the two-part Grand Finale on the last afternoon of the show, where they will be challenged to wrap the side of a Chevy Corvette convertible and the front of a racing motorbike – all in one piece.

“The wrappers will be evaluated on the quality of their work, although speed will be a decisive factor should there be a draw,” says FESPA Wrap Cup event coordinator Dirk Moebes of Digital DesignWare. “This is going to a fun event, both to watch and take part in, but above it will be an excellent way for competing print service providers to showcase their skills among peers.”

Competitors will be judged by a panel of three, including Robert Ivers, founder of the PDAA (Professional Decal Application Alliance) and Hans van den Berg, technical training manager of FESPA Wrap Cup sponsor Avery Graphics.

Any company with some experience of vehicle wrapping can enter a representative. To sign up, visit www.fespa-wrap-cup.com. A modest registration fee of Euros 200.00 is payable, but all participants are guaranteed to take home a prize package worth at least 2000€, even if they do not survive the first round. The finalists will be presented with products and services worth more than 8,000€ each at an exclusive awards ceremony following Saturday’s final.
